Turtle Bags was founded in 2001 in England as a reaction to reports of damage to plastic bags on turtles. They travel hundreds of miles during the summer in search of food. Tragically, the largest member of the turtle family, the Leatherback turtle, tends to confuse plastic bags in the ocean with jellyfish - its only source of nutrition. By making a sustainable alternative to the plastic bag, Turtle Bags wants to help reduce debris in the oceans so that turtles can swim calmly.
